Shop Closing for Canada Post Strike
✨Due to the Canada Post strike shipping delays are to be expected. Please understand no shipping estimates can be guaranteed and please expect delays with orders✨
To prepare for the oncoming Canada Post strike beginning Friday May 23 the shop will be closed. The shop will reopen once the Canada Post strike ends so the shop re-opening date will remain TBD.
Rural towns rely solely on Canada Post for deliveries and I am unable to exclude these shipping locations. The last strike ended up being almost 2 months with no resolution. After a few weeks the other available postal carriers also froze their services in solidarity of the strike and nothing was able to be shipped out. I anticipate the same events will happen so I cannot keep the shop open to other shipping locations.
If you have a question about your order please make sure to include your order number, full name. and email associated with the order so I can assist you as soon as I can.
✨If you would like to browse feel free to shop message or email me for the shop password but please do not place an order as it will be cancelled
FAQ:
✨What postal service are orders sent through?: ChitChats is the shipping provider I use to ship out my packages - use the ChitChats tracking page to find all your shipment information. The bottom of the ChitChats tracking page will have a link to the local postal carrier your package will be handed off to. Packages are handed off to Canada Post in Canada, USPS in the United States and Asendia for outside North America.
✨How long does shipping take?: After a package has been scanned in at the postal facility shipping within the U.S and Canada normally takes 1-2 weeks but can sometimes take up to 15 business days. This is an estimate and not a guarantee. Please note, that we are not responsible for shipping delays.
✨Why has my package has been sitting in one spot for a long time?: I ship from Toronto Canada, which means U.S/International orders must go through customs before being passed off to their local carrier: USPS or Asendia. This process takes 3-7 business days but can take 7-14 business days during the holidays. If tracking does not show up with USPS tracking please check ChitChats tracking page to see the location.
✨How long do orders being shipped outside North America take?: Orders being shipped outside North America can take from 1-2 months to arrive. The customs checks for International orders depending on the location and their shipping laws can take 1-3 weeks. For more up to date information on international orders once passed through customs please check Asendia’s tracking page and input your tracking number.
✨Do I have to pay duties/customs?: If your order is being sent outside of Canada then you may have to pay import fees, customs, duties, or taxes. European orders must pay a VAT to enter the country, so please be prepared. If these charges occur they are your responsibility to pay.
✨My shipment was delivered, where is it?: You are responsible for keeping track of your shipment and delivery. Sometimes the local post office will hold onto a package for 2 weeks after a failed delivery. The tracking page for your shipment will have all the information about your delivery. If you have a problem please contact your local post office ASAP.
✨My package was stolen: Due to scammers we cannot provide any refunds or replacements for stolen items. If an item has been marked as delivered by the postal service provider then we are unable to get the funds back from insurance. If this does happen please contact your local post office or your mail person to let them know about the situation.
✨My package was lost: A package is considered lost by the carrier after sitting in one location for more than 18 business days. Sometimes this will be indicated by the postal service in your tracking updates. If this occurs please contact me and I will contact insurance to get your order refunded or replaced.
✨Why is my shipment/customs taking longer than indicated?: Deliveries are expected be slower during the holidays due to the Canada Post strike and annual huge influx of packages. So please keep in mind that this may cause a shipping delay during the holiday season.
✨Do you have more information about my package tracking/delivery?: After a package has been handed off to a carrier I have no control over the package, its location, the time it takes, etc. I do not have any more additional information than the tracking page provides and only the postal service can help with delivery/shipping issues. If you have an issue please call your local post office immediately.
